Legislative Update
During the legislative session CalChoice, along with CalCCA, submitted comments to ensure that should these bills be signed into law that the final version(s) reflected the concerns of the CCA community.
Below is a status of the bills that were watched during the session:
- Senate Bill 811 (Min) – Procurement Mandate – CalCCA took an oppose position on this bill and it died in the Senate Appropriations Committee. A win for the CCA community!
- Senate Bill 1020 (Laird) – Clean Energy, Jobs, and Affordability Act of 2022/Acceleration of RPS – A watch position was taken on this bill. This bill is currently referred to the Committees on Natural Resources and Utilities and Energy.
- Senate Bill 1158 (Becker) – GHG Reporting. CalChoice staff participated on a Tiger Team with CalCCA and closely watched this bill while working with the author on amendments. This bill is currently referred to the Committees on Natural Resources and Utilities and Energy.
- Assembly Bill 1814 (Grayson) – CCA Transportation Electrification. This was a bill sponsored by CalCCA and will be moved to the next legislative session (2023).
